About Adam

Background

Adam Kwentua was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA and is a current resident of Zachary, LA. Adam has worked as an Assistant District Attorney with the 19th JDC, Office of the District Attorney since 2014. In his position as a Senior Felony Prosecutor, Adam handled cases ranging from misdemeanors and lower level felonies to major assaults and homicides. He is a former Southern Regional Director and Louisiana Chapter President of the National Black Prosecutors Association, an organization with the goal to serve as a catalyst for interdisciplinary communication, innovative training, professional development and camaraderie among blacks choosing careers in law enforcement. Adam also spent time working with the 19th JDC - Recovery Court Program, the EBRDA bond department and the EBRDA family & non-support department.

Education

Adam is a graduate of Southern University Law Center where he worked as a Legal Fellow for the Southern University Law Clinic and mentored through the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. Prior to law school, he studied Legal Studies in Business and Consumer Behavior in Marketing (CBMA) at Tulane University, A.B. Freeman School of Business. He is also a graduate of University High School.

In addition to his formal education, Adam participated in many diversity trainings such as the Urban League of Louisiana - Urban Leaders for Equity and Diversity (ULEAD): Public Safety Series and the Dialogue on Race Series hosted by the East Baton Rouge Public Defenders Office among others.

Community Involvement & Organizations

Adam is an active volunteer in the community. His involvement includes the Gardere Youth Alliance (Gardere Packers & Gardere Saints football), the Gardere Initiative, and Istrouma Baptist Sports  as a volunteer football coach and mentor. He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated and a regular speaker with Youth Peace Olympics, Fathers on a Mission (F.O.A.M.), and various high schools and higher education programs in the area. He is a member of Faith Chapel Church of God, African Christian Fellowship and Anioma Association.
